World Humanitarian Day is celebrated to pay tribute to all humanitarian working for well being of their country all over the world. It is held in 19 August every year.

Who is a humanitarian?
A humanitarian is a person who works for the well
being of his country which includes human welfare and social reforms. In case, when there is any natural calamities or war etc. A humanitarian is a one who rescue the attacked people by giving them shelter to live and to give safety to the refugees and the injured and affected people.
He may be appointed by the government or he help people by his own. He help people in most inhospitable situations when there is no other option for the affected people like people who are suffering from serious illness, who are the victims of floods and earthquakes and wars as well.

What does a humanitarian do?
A humanitarian works day and night whenever there is any emergency, e.g. fire, earthquake, flood or war. He provide the affected people with different helping materials like cloths, water, milk, food, place to live, medication and other necessity. He in nutshell, give charity for those who are in really need, or whenever they are in emergency. He also collect the amount of charity from those who can give the amount. And donate the amount to the needy people.
A humanitarian does not do these activities for any fame, he do it because it gives him relaxation because he heartily wants to help the needy people.

World humanitarian day is celebrated to pay tribute to all humanitarian who work hard for the benefit and safety of others besides thinking about their life
